Good Morning My Crafty Friends,

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I did and I am looking forward to a great, creative week! 

As you know, Jen Starr will be here next Tuesday, October 6^th.  I am so excited!!!!  She only visits our store once a year, so don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a very talented and FUN artist.

The classes she will teaching are listed below.  There are still seats available so come by the store or call and we will get you signed up.

ARTISTIC LAYERS – ART JOURNALING 

10:30am – 1:30pm      $45

    

Using the beautiful and vibrant Dylusions Paints you will create 4 unique pages in your art journal.   We will focus on painting techniques for layering color and images, color theory and blending (without getting mud!), washes and glazes, a variety of ways to use stencils and masks, working with gesso and so much more…

These pages will be a stunning addition to your art journal and you will learn some great techniques that you will be able to translate in to all of your future projects!

**PLEASE BRING TO CLASS** YOUR ART JOURNAL, a variety of paint brushes including a 1” flat brush.  Container for water, baby wipes and paper towels, some of your favorite stencils (I will have some to share as well), A variety of black and white permanent markers (such as Sharpie, Pitt pens, Uni-Ball, etc)

BE HAPPY MIXED MEDIA MINI-BOOK

 2:00pm – 5:00pm        $47

This chunky little book is going to show off the MIXED in mixed media!  You will be working with chipboard, metal, fabric, Viva Decor 3D Stamp Paints, gesso, inks, stamps, stencils, Inka Gold, Glitter Pens ...just to name a few.  The book will be made from scratch and measures 6x8" and almost 2" thick.  We'll put it all together in class using a few different binding techniques.  You can add photos later or use it as an Art Journal...and there will be room to expand with additional pages as well if you wish!  

**Please bring to class** Baby Wipes and paper towels, 1/2" double sided tape (such as Score or red tape), scissors, scoring tool/board if you have one (a small one is fine - at least 6"), heat gun, variety of paint brushes and container for water, strong liquid adhesive such as Glossy Accents and an ink blending tool with foam (or make up sponges or similar).

INKA GOLD TECHNIQUES – CARD BONANZA!  

6:00pm – 8:30pm          $45

Inka Gold is one of those unique products that lends itself to ANY style you want it to...all you need to do is learn how to unlock its potential!  This TECHNIQUE BONANZA workshop is heavily focused on over a dozen different ways to use Inka Gold while working on a variety if cards.  Whether your personal tastes are elegant, distressed, artistic or cutesy and bright, we will be covering it during the class while we work with new stamps and stencils as well.  You will have the opportunity to work with ALL of the beautiful colors that Inka Gold has to offer to create cards that compliment your style.  

**Please bring to class**  1" flat paint brush and a smaller detailed brush, container for water, blending tool with foam or make up sponges, adhesive for paper, baby wipes and paper towels

Christmas Quilted Table Runner Meet Up

Hello!

I know you all are scratching your heads....quilting at the scrapbook store?????

Let me explain.  Many of us are "multi-crafters" and over the last couple of years I have had several requests to teach you how to quilt.  I am by no means and expert but I do love quilting.  So, I have decided to do a BEGINNERS class starting with a Christmas table runner.  When we are done we can scrapbook our fun!

I have scheduled a "meet up" for Saturday, September 5th.  This is where we will discuss what the class will be, what you will need to bring, see the pattern we're going to use, and decide when we want to schedule the class(es).  If you are not able to attend please let me know you are interested and I will make sure you get the information.

Christmas Planner - Midori Style

Here is some information on the Christmas planner class.  I am in LOVE with this planner.

I'm sure some of you know about the Midori craze that has hit the scrapbook world.  This is my take on it and it was so much fun to make I plan to make one for everyday use.  

Please do not let the kitty fabric, yes I said fabric :), scare you away.  I have several different patterns for you to choose from and there is NO sewing involved.  Everything is provided for you for the class however, the charms will be different.  

You need to bring you regular class kit and make sure you have you have your exacto knife in there.

Christmas in July Crop

We have had so much fun today!

So far we have only one entry in the "ugly Christmas" tank top/ t-shirt contest so bring it tomorrow ladies :)
Susie won today's challenge, way to go!  They had to decorate a Christmas cookie cutter.  They were all so creative.
Lots of scrappin', laughs, prizes and good food.  Who could ask for anything more :)

Kat's Kit Club's and Holiday Hours

I will be open today until 4:30.  I will be closed starting tomorrow, July 2, for the Holiday weekend.  I will reopen Tuesday, July 7th with regular hours.

I just love how it turned out.  You do not have to use it for a recipe book.  It would make a great 4th of July memory book.

Christmas in July Crop Update

Happy Saturday!

Do you know what June 25th was?  It was LEON day.  That means there is only 6 months until Christmas!!!!!

We are filling up, so if you are planning on attending please come in or call and we'll get you signed up.  

I told you that there is going to be a challenge each day so now I want to tell you about the contest.  I know you have all heard of the Ugly Sweater contests, well we are going to have a Ugly Tank Top/T-Shirt Contest.  (I could not find a good picture of one, lol)

Contest rules:

** To be eligible as an Ugly Christmas Tank Top/T-Shirt Contestant you must wear a Christmas or Winter themed Tank Top or T-Shirt to the crop.  

** You may add to or alter your Tank Tops or T-Shirt however you like, have fun and get creative. Additional items such as hats, jewelry or other festive attire will not be considered when voting for the Ugliest Tank Tops or T-Shirt. An item must be attached to your Christmas sweater in order to be eligible. 

** Any and all alterations or additions to your creation must be completed before entering the crop.

** You must wear it long enough for everyone else to enjoy it and allow me to take a picture.

** I will post the pictures on my Facebook page and everyone will have the opportunity to vote until 3:00pm Saturday, July11th.

Yes, you need to wear it :)

Brag Book Mini

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. It's definitely Summer!  

Get out of the heat and join us for a mini album class.  Today we are making the Brag Book.  This is a very easy mini album to make and packs a lot of room for pictures.

Class time is 1:00pm - 3:00pm.

Christmas in July Crop

Who is ready for a 2-day crop!  I know I am. 

The days are set, July 10^th & 11^th, 10:00am – 10:00pm both days.

Registration begins today!

We will have a contest and at least one challenge and lots of prizes!  

I also have a couple of kits that I’m working on and there will also be a couple make’n takes all about helping us get ready for Christmas.  It’ll be here before you know it!
