August Events & Calendar

Good Afternoon!

Lots of exciting things happening this month.  New classes, crops, and fun make and takes. 

One of the most exciting events we are having is Stacye DeWid with Tattered Angels will be here to teach 3 classes on August 24th!  I have extended sign up until August 10th.  Don't miss the chance to learn from a nationally known teacher.   

Tattered Techniques

Journey Canvas Layout

Springtime Mini Album

Tattered Techniques - 10:30am-12:30 pm  $40
In this class you will immerse yourself into a world of all things glimmery. You will play with ALL of the Tattered Angels paint mediums including, Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Chalkboard, Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze. You will learn to blend, create backgrounds, mask, bees wax resist, and a few other fun techniques! Your finished project can be used as a Tattered Angels reference book or throw some pictures in it and it can be a mini album!

Journey Canvas Layouts - 2:00pm-4:00pm $45
Come along on a fun misting "journey" with Stacye as you create 2 separate layouts. You will mist, glam, glaze, and play with canvas all while learning a few fun techniques.

Springtime Mini Album - 6:00pm-9:00pm $50
In this technique filled class you will mist, glam, glaze, and use several other mediums to create a unique album to share with friends and family.

 I told you it was exciting! You will need to bring your class/workshop kit with you.

These classes are for everyone not just scrapbookers. You will learn many techniques that can be used for cardmaking, scrapbooking and altered art projects.

There is a bonus gift for those of you that register before August 10^th.  You can register at the store or call to register with your credit card.

ATC and Greeting Card Swap Groups Eye Candy!

Good Morning!

I want to share with you some of the beautiful ATC cards and Greeting cards our swap groups have been creating.  First up is an ATC card.  The theme was Paper Dolls.  This is just so cute & creative!

Next is Masculine Birthday Cards.  Beautiful designs.

Lastly, we have Christmas Greeting Cards.  All I can say is I hope I get one of each this year!

Right now there is one ATC swap group and two Greeting Card swap groups.  We have room for two more cardmakers in our second group and would love to start a second ATC group.

 

Here's how we work.  They meet once a month, the ATC group meets the first Friday at 6:00pm, the Greeting Card group meets the third Friday at 6:00pm and the second Greeting Card group meets the third Friday at 6:00pm.   The ATC groups are limited to 9 people and the Greeting Card groups are limited to 6 people.  Each group picks the "themes" for their group.

This Week's Happenings

Happy Monday!

Here are some highlights of the happenings this week:

Make and Take - This week it is a thank you card. 

The make and take will be available all week as supplies last.  You will be able to work at your own pace.  This project is suitable for ages 14 and up.

Tuesday - is all about the Cricut. 

There are beginner Expression and Imagine classes.

Wednesday - I will have two Gypsy classes. 

I know a lot of you have this wonderful machine but are still unsure of how to make it work for you. 

Thursday - Another "all about the Cricut" day! 

Cricut 201 is on the schedule.  This is for Expression owners that want to learn what the "other" buttons/function keys are for and also learn how to make all the wonder layers work.  The goal ti to complete a 12x12 layout by class end.

Friday - Crop all Day with me, WooHoo!  10:00am - 10:00 pm

Saturday - This is the most anticipated class this month! 

Family Mini Album with Laura.  This is a four hour class and I only have 3 spaces/kits left.

Reminder:
Tattered Angels with Stayce DeWid is on Friday, August 24th.  If you register by August 10th you get a free gift from Tattered Angels. We are filling up fast so don't delay.  I would hate for anyone to miss the opportunity to attend classes given by a National teacher!  Call or come by the store for more details.

Summer Fun Update

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Here's an update on the Summer Fun Crop this weekend.  It has filled up fast so there are only 2 tables left.  I am finishing up the challenges and crop gifts and getting ready to crop til' I drop, LOL!  I can't think of a better way to beat the heat.  Call the store to reserve your table, 464-0669.


Make and Take
To go with the summer theme this week I have a fun summer tag make and take.  

It only takes about 20 minutes. to make and you have a great tag for a gift bag or it could be a beautiful embellishment on a scrapbook layout.   This make and take only costs $3.00 and is suitable for ages 14 and up.  You can make these between 10:30am and 5:00 pm.
